White Gold

White gold is the most requested metal in our Hatton Garden showroom, and it remains the practical choice for anyone who wants the look of platinum at a lower price. It begins as yellow gold alloyed with white metals, then takes a rhodium plating that gives it a bright, cool finish. That plating wears gradually with daily use and is refreshed as part of routine servicing, which is work we carry out on the premises. The fifty one pieces in this collection cover the full range. Solitaires such as Luna and Petra sit alongside halo designs including Milano, Olivia and Paris. The eternity rings, among them Madonna, Oprah and Cher, show how well the metal frames a continuous line of diamonds. For men there are bevelled edges, satin finishes and the classic wedding bands that make up much of what we sell week to week.White gold is available in 18ct and 9ct. The higher carat holds more pure gold and carries a warmer underlying tone, while 9ct is harder and more resistant to knocks. Which suits you depends on how the ring will be worn rather than on price alone, and it is a conversation worth having before you choose. Our buyer guide to white gold explains rhodium plating, alloys and upkeep, and ring metals sets it against platinum and yellow gold so you can see the trade offs clearly. If nothing here is quite right, our bespoke service can build to your design.
