Diamond

Diamond is the stone most of this workshop is built around, and this collection gathers the pieces where the diamond itself is the point. Eternity rings including Madonna, Oprah, Cher and Zendaya carry continuous or channel set lines of stones. Adele, Ariana, Monroe and Shakira take single diamonds in settings designed to let as much light in as possible. The Smith and Green Invisible and Smith and Green Love designs are our own.Every diamond we set is selected in Hatton Garden, and the certificated stones come with GIA, IGI or HRD paperwork. What that paperwork records is the four characteristics that determine both how a diamond looks and what it costs. Cut governs how the stone returns light and is the one that most affects whether a diamond looks alive on the hand. Colour and clarity are graded on scales where the differences at the top are invisible without magnification but very visible on the price. Carat is weight, not size, which is why two one carat stones can look quite different.Understanding those four is the single most useful thing you can do before buying, and our guide to the Four Cs sets it out plainly. Diamond shapes explains how cut affects appearance, and diamond prices shows how the grades translate into cost. If you would rather have something made, our bespoke service begins with choosing the stone.
